TOLLERTON PARISH PLAN 2009 – RESIDENTS’ QUESTIONNAIRE

Tollerton Parish Plan
A community lead project

Saturday 13th September saw the presentation of questionnaire draw prizes in the run up to the publication of the Tollerton Parish Plan to follow soon. Sue Jackson, parish councilor, presented a hamper to Gill Charlton kindly donated by Phil Lancaster of Tollerton Village Shop. Sue also presented a cash prize, donated by Tollerton Parish Council, to the junior questionnaire winner Merryn Rose.

David Bateman, chairman of the Tollerton Parish Plan steering group, explains that the questionnaires have now been analysed following very positive support from the village. It was very clear that everyone has very strong support for life in the village as it is at present.
The responses contained a wealth of information, ideas and suggestions. Over the last few weeks the planning group has reviewed all the information, discussed a range of ideas and has formed a draft plan which now awaits Parish Council approval.
The main areas being addressed in the plan involve:-

  1. Traffic calming measures
  2. Maintenance of pathways and verges
  3. Parking around the village surgery
  4. Provision of public transport
  5. Personal safety and adequate policing services
  6. Long term support for village activities
  7. Activities for teenagers
  8. Maintenance of approaches to the village

It is hoped that Tollerton will have a printed plan brochure, which will be circulated to all houses within the parish very soon.
