Threat to Tollerton Post Office.

Phil has been told that the Post Office has to shut. This will affect hundreds of people who rely on the PO for collecting pensions, child support, to posting parcels and just getting stamps.

The Press are actively involved in trying to stop all these closures and have a petition set up. Follow this link to sign it.

On Thursday 29th there was a meeting between local Parish Councils and Post Office representatives to try and forge a way forward. We will let you know the outcome of this meeting in due course.

We have received this email from a gentleman by the name of Peter R Harper. Anyone who remembers him or the events that is spoken of, please get in touch with us and we can pass on your details, or just publish your memories too.

In the summers of 1955 and 56 I did my National Service at Linton on Ouse and played Cricket for the village, I particularly remember a knock-out final at Huby, we were beaten. I have visited the village and was staggered to see the Cricket pitch looked like a Dog Racing track. Two names I remember playing with were a "Tot" Bradley and Carruthers. They will almost certainly be dead now but someone may remember them or myself. I have very nostalgic memories of the village and I think "The Station Hotel" and particularly the Pavilion, a converted Railway Carriage.
